It's been a while since I posted about my love for Gwynnie Beeand what an awesome resource it is for plus size fashionistas who want variety in their closets! But I thought it was time to feature it again, since there's so much happening over at the "hive" and they are turning 4 years old! Eloquii is one of their recent acquisitions, and I am thrilled, since that line is on the pricier side, and I love having access to so many of their fabulous pieces for one monthly rate. This allows me to play around with many different looks and take chances with my fashion, without the financial investment...and without taking up permanent space in my closet! Here's a recent example of a fun outfit I put together with the Eloquii Slick Scuba Hi Lo Skirt from Gwynnie Bee. It's got a ton of French Flair, n'est pas?

The scuba knit fabric of this Eloquii skirt is heavier and you can definitely tell it's higher quality. The under skirt is shorter, and the front panel is split to reveal flashes of your legs underneath -- so it's modest, but with a hint of sex appeal. Oh, and of course...for all of you pocket-lovers out there, there are pockets at the hip. Eloquii always runs small (I learned that from trying on so many Gwynnie Bee items!) so be sure to order a size up!

I don't like sticking to one style. I am a plus size fashion lover and I have love affairs with all of the different eras and styles. Sometimes, I'm in the mood for a 50s pinup look, sometimes I want to go for a strong #girlboss style, and other times, I want to go graphic and bold and a little 60s mod. Today is one of those days! This High Neck Crepe Dress from Simply Be is a little odd and very mod. I love the wide windowpane black and white print. And the high neck speaks to this style's 60s roots. A funky extra is this stepped hem -- it's shorter in the front panel and is longer at the sides and back. It creates visual interest and drama -- and ensures that your look is far from boring!

The stepped hem really makes the dress quite short in the front if you're tall like me. So consider wearing some black tights underneath to extend the lines and provide some coverage! 

 I think this bright blue Kristin Blake coat provides a fabulous contrast to the graphic print of the dress, don't you? Add your own colorful topper and some booties, and see where your day takes you!

Dressing like a #GIRLBOSS is as easy as 1. Picking a dress in a bold color and a classic shape 2. Carrying a structured bag big enough to tote your spare shoes and 3. A great pair of shoes. Since my daily work wardrobe is pretty conservative, I try to invest in quality pieces that will last along time and I won't be fidgeting with during meetings. That quest led me to discover Classiques Entier, which is one of Nordstrom's house designed brands. These dresses are SO DREAMY and feel absolutely amazing when you slip them on. I don't know what kind of magic their pattern makers are using, but fit of these dresses are incredible. I couldn't resist this Classiques Entier Bateau Neck Italian Ponte Knit Sheath Dress in this beautiful, bright coral color when I saw it in the store. I already have the same one in black, but look...CORAL!!!

The dress has a bateau neckline in the front and a v-neck in the back -- which makes this style so sophisticated and elegant! Three-quarter length sleeves and a knee length hem complete the elegant, confident #girlboss look I am going for when I wear this dress!

It's no secret that I have tons and tons of plus size dresses bursting my closet at the seams. That's one of the reasons I recently revamped my online store (ACCESS IT HERE) so that I could let some of my clothes breathe! I have so many dresses that it's hard for me to find the ones I truly love. In fact, I recently rediscovered this City Chic black floral fit-and-flare plus size dress in the back of my closet and wore it out with my boyfriend for date night. Then I realized that I had never posted the adorable pictures I took of it from over a year ago! I still had my short bob (totally miss it now!!) and the snow was just starting to melt. I love this dress for it's feminine 50s shape, flared out skirt (it has netting underneath!) and the elbow length sleeves. It fits like a glove!

And of course, we took these pictures at high noon (a big photoshoot no-no), so this is pretty much how I spent the whole shoot!

Aren't these florals just so bold and beautiful?! They jump right off the black background! Sadly, it's already sold out, but the good news for you is that it will be coming to my online store soon!!! If you want to call dibs on it, email me and I'll put it aside for you!

I love that this dress goes so well with black tights and colorful shoes! It makes it appropriate for all seasons. :)

Rachel Roy just debuted a Curvy Plus Size Collection! Rachel Roy is a high end clothing designer known for her classic, feminine silhouettes and bold use of color and patterns. She launched her label in 2004 and later expanded into ready to wear...and now, FINALLY!, she has debuted the RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy Collection, available at Macy's and on her website. And guess who could NOT resist trying it out?? Especially when I ran across this Rachel Rachel Roy Curvy Plus Size Sleeveless Sheath Dress with oversized pockets on my last Macy's shopping trip!

According to this Refinery 29 interview with the designer, she describes her target woman like this: "The Rachel Rachel Roy woman is curious and adventurous; she has a career, so she has the need to look professional, pulled-together, and polished. She’s the younger sister to Rachel Roy, so the price point is lower and more affordable. But who the customer is really the same throughout, despite the category."

That's seriously exactly how I feel about this dress. It's such a simple shape, but I feel so polished! I can totally wear this to the office this spring/summer but can also wear it on a number of other occasions. It's a sturdy knit and has a super flattering A-line shape. The v neck and pleat down the center make the dress feel like an origami masterpiece...and when you add the oversized pockets...you have a polished, chic sheath dress...for plus size ladies!

Forever 21 Plus has really stepped up their plus size fashion game lately. Not only did they debut a plus size activewear line recently, but they are continuing to put out some of the absolute MOST DARLING plus size swimsuits on the market right now. I bought my first "fatkini" at Forever 21 last year, and it's still one of my absolute favorites (see the post here). This year, I was all set to buy another 2-piece, but as soon as I laid eyes on this ADORABLE Forever 21 Plus Size Lemon/Leaf One-Piece, I had to have it!

The overall effect is magic for curvy bodies -- and creates a retro "bathing beauty" silhouette. When I put on these Saint Laurent 102 Surf Retro Sunglasses from Nordstrom, I nearly swooned at the sight of them together!

It's still cold here in Chicago (it was only 42 degrees when we did this shoot!!), but I'm already dreaming of how and when and where I'm going to wear this swimsuit this season!

Each year, Macy's hosts a Flower Show at several of their flagship stores around the country. Gorgeous flowers, arranged in thematic settings...so beautiful, so fresh! It's a gorgeous celebration of spring, and I love seeing what they come up with every year! This year's theme was America the Beautiful, and every garden was set up to capture the spirit and natural beauty of each region of the country...the southeast, east, southwest, west, midwest and pacific northwest. I was so inspired by the Flower Show that I just had to do a photo shoot -- even though the lighting was set up to highlight the flowers and (gasp!) not fashion bloggers attempting to steal the spotlight.

The three looks that I chose worked well with the gardens from the southeast, southwest and Rockies region.

First, the southeast, which is an environment I'm very familiar with, since I'm from Alabama! I chose a mint color, two tone sleeveless sheath dress from Calvin Klein to evoke the charm and refinement that characterizes southern fashion.

Next, I completely fell in love with this off-the-shoulder ruffled royal blue dress. I had a vision that it would perfectly match the southwest landscape and couldn't help but add a flower headress!

And for my third dress, I went with a more sleek silhouette with a mod, colorblocked design that evoked the scenery of the Rockies to me.

I cannot get enough of this plus size dress in marble print from ASOS Curve. It fits perfectly! And the print is just divine! With the wrap front and the ruched sides, it's flattering to your curves...and I love the stretchy knit fabric and the higher neckline. The way this dress nips in at the waist and then wraps over the hips helps disguise your belly (if you're an apple shape like me). It's a gorgeous dress in a strong silhouette that's at home at the office and also at a happy hour any night of the week!

This plus size maxi dress from Avenue is so fun! When Avenue asked me to collaborate with them on a couple of style posts, I jumped at the chance and immediately gravitated toward this Muted Abstract Maxi Wrap dress. You know chesty, curvy girls love a good wrap dress, and this deep surplice v-neckline lays perfectly over the chest! The muted abstract pattern is bright, but not overpowering. Overall, it's an easy-to-wear, relaxed dress that will be a great addition to your summer wardrobe. I already tried it out at North Avenue Beach here in Chicago!

Plus size women have so many more choices now! It's a whole new world that has opened up in the last two years, and I couldn't be happier. Clothes that would have never been manufactured in plus sizes -- like mini skirts and crop tops! -- are now showing up in major retailers everywhere. Shopping is so fun now -- since I know that I have cute, stylish and fashion forward clothes to choose from! So to celebrate...I'm showing a little leg in today's post!

This is just a simple skater skirt from Forever 21 Plus, but it's short and bright and perfect! The pleats at the front and back provide a little bit of shape. And this textured crop top (which isn't too cropped!) is so fresh  and refined. Tomato and white are two of the hottest colors for SS16, and together, they are a winning combo! And because I'm a fan of hi/lo dressing, I've paired this Forever 21 Plus outfit with higher end accessories. These pumps from Alexander Wang are so colorful and amazing! They are a different shape than most pumps and the woven textile fabric is so unique. And, you've seen these Saint Laurent Retro Surf sunglasses in quite of my posts lately. I just can't get enough!

Prints of flowers are not enough for me any more. I've crossed the line. I've gone 3D! This plus size dress from ASOS Curve has delicate, colorful beaded flowers all over the light and airy fabric...It's decadent and a little flashy...but oh so sweet and innocent! The skater dress shape of this dress makes it ideal for twirling, but beware...it is SHORT! I like my dresses and skirts short, but it was even making me nervous! But OHHHH....the beading!

The material of this plus size skater dress is so light and airy...and it comes in a delicate blue-gray color, which is so delicate. The beadwork is fancy and intricate and just pops right off the fabric, and really just makes you happy to look at!

Here's another amazing plus size dress from Classiques Entier, Nordstrom's in house luxury brand. From the silk georgette floral material in this deep green with pops of yellow, to the A-line shape with a nice pleated v-neck and short cap sleeves...this dress is super flattering from head to hem. It lays so perfectly over your curves and I completely felt like a million bucks when I slipped it over my head!

I'm usually not a very sporty gal in my everyday style, but this dress was calling my name. The bright blue color just pops when you're walking down the street, and it is actually an overlay over a dark gray knit skirt. The split sides give the dress great movement and reveal the underskirt when the wind blows just right! It's a simple design, with a bit of ribbing in contrasting black at the neckline. It's definitely easy to wear and a step out of the box for plus size silhouettes!

It's a Polka Dot Party up in here! I love the cheerful and humble polka dot...it's impossible to not feel happy when wearing them! This black and white plus size ruffled overlay dress from ASOS Curve is just what every polka dot lover needs.  This ASOS Praslin Plus Dress with Polka Dot Overlay is black with with dots on the bottom; white with black dots on the top. It's close cut on the bottom, but definitely has a lot of stretch...so if you want a closer fit, order a size down!

Sometimes I stumble upon an outfit that is a lot cooler than me. That happened when I collaborated with Forever 21 Plus on a series of spring fashion posts*. I saw this Forever 21 Plus Size Faux Leather Shift Dress and my cool girl meter went to 11! I love the rock star vibe of the faux leather and the short skirt. The deep cuts on the sides are meant to show off a cute patterned top -- like this striped tank -- or even a crop top!

LOOK! These colors are amazing! Bright oranges and blues and teals! This City Chic plus size maxi dress is everything a floral-dress-lover could want. I've had a not-so-secret obsession with City Chic, and I love that they are becoming easier and easier to find! They have been in Nordstrom for a few years, and online since the beginning. But now they're in Macy's and on Gwynnie Bee as well as part of the Fullbeauty suite of brands! I spotted this dress on Fullbeauty.com, but sadly they are already sold out (but check out the other fabulous City Chic pieces they care here)! It's clear that City Chic is taking over the world...and why not? With killer dresses like this at fabulous price points, I can't help but be a huge fan.
