It's holiday season, and that means I'm in texture and sparkle heaven with all of the gorgeous plussize dresses that have taken over my favorite shops. Everywhere I look, there's gorgeous, touchable velvet, flirty peek-a-boo lace, sequins and satin and bows... SWOON. Even amongst all of this glitz and glamour, Kiyonna's Velvet Luxe Wrap Dress is in a league of its own.

It's everything you could hope for...gorgeous, soft velvet in a rich jewel tone...with a super flattering wrap silhouette that shows off your decolletage to perfection. It's dramatic and lovely...and unbelievably...comfortable. No really, it feels like you're wearing a bathrobe...if bathrobes were this Old Hollywood glamorous!

You cannot overestimate the power and all-consuming need for good tank tops and camis in your wardrobe. For every girl, of course...but it's especially essential for curvy girls who need more cleavage coverage than many styles provide. A few months ago, I found out about Skinny Tees, a company that specializes in tank tops and camisoles made from a super comfortable and super-slimming spandex and nylon fabric. I was thrilled to find out that their signature cami is offered in size "And a Little More" which fits a nice range of plussizes.

I've worn it countless times since I got it...and I'm sure I'll be getting it in several of the other colors -- it comes in 10!

When I first featured this tank, I wore it with a cashmere sweater and leopard print pants (See the full post here)...And here, I am wearing the Skinny Tee "And A Little More" cami with a fabulous kimono style top from Nordstrom Rack.

And how cute is the packaging? The tank top came rolled up like a little gift, with a bag of sweets, a sample of woolite and a special delicates bag to wash the tank in to keep it looking new. So cute!

So...put the Skinny Tee on your list of wardrobe staples. It's comfortable, versatile...and I estimate that the one size "And a little more" will fit up to a 3X. I love companies like this that are size inclusive!

There's just something about PLAID that makes me feel all cozy and festive...and lucky for me, it's on all the holiday must-have lists this season! Foxcroft is the master of the button down shirt...and has some adorable plaid plussize tunics that I can't get enough of! Choose a LWD (little white dress) for this Valentine's Day! All the fashion and style mags say to ditch the black and go for white hot looks this season--yes, even in winter! Some of my favorite plus size labels are heeding the call and coming out with some gorgeous, curve-hugging white dresses. Kiyonna's Rumor Ruched Dress in white is a perfect choice for a romantic night out with your honey--even if you have to wade through a foot of snow to get there!

This dress is perfect for plus size gals in all shapes and sizes...the ruching hugs your hips, nips in at the waist, and the deep V neck shows just enough cleavage to heat up your night out.

Spring is finally HERE (even though it snowed today in Chicago--I'm going to think positive!). Y'all know I'm usually all about flirty and fun dresses -- but I this spring, I decided to focus on finding some casual, chic and versatile pieces that can take me from brunch to drinks to errands and back again.

When Kohl's asked me to take a look at their Plus Size Jennifer Lopez Collection and their recently expanded Rock & Republic Plus Size Line, I found just what I was looking for!

They are the most comfortable and slimming pants I've tried in a long time! They hold their shape and have a lot of stretch, so even if you overindulge on Easter Brunch, you'll still be comfortable and look amazing.

Even though I'm usually a sweaty gross mess when I work out, I'm still vain enough to want to look fabulous. That's why I'm thrilled to see the expanded athletic selections for plus size gals that are popping up lately. This month, Kohl's asked me to review their athletic wear line called Tek Gear® which is available in plus sizes, and I have to admit that I'm hooked! How cute is this workout outfit??

Right now, spring is still in the process of springing...winter clothes are too warm and spring outfits aren't ready to come out yet...that's another place where the Gwynnie Bee Service comes in! You can spice up your wardrobe while you're waiting to debut your bright spring dresses.

The key to transition dressing is brighter colors but with longer sleeves and hem length. Also, look for pieces that can be layered or worn with high boots or tights. I go for dresses that look springish but still provide coverage. Here's a recent example from my Gwynnie Bee closet...

The lines of this Three Dots dress looked simple, but were very flattering--with the seaming over the bust and the full skirt. The 3/4 sleeves and below-the-knee length were perfect for the uncertain spring weather. Definitely a great transition piece!

In my last post, I featured an Outfit of the Day featuring pieces from Gwynnie Bee and you might have spotted this amazing watch from JORD Wood Watches. Isn't it gorgeous??? The Zebrawood and Turquoise Cora Series Watch is fun, unique and oh-so-stylish! I particularly love the Swarovski crystal hour markers and the peek-a-boo window that shows the internal gears. And the natural grains in the wood give the watch an earthy, original beauty that few other watches can match.

This is an automatic watch, and that was new to me...so don't be surprised if the movement stops if you don't wear it for a few days. With this type of watch, you have to wind it or wear it to keep it charged! The automatic movement has a 24-48 hour reserve, which means that if the watch is fully charged, it will hold the correct time for up to 2 days without you wearing it. If it is not fully wound and you do not wear it for a little bit, the movement will actually stop. You will either need to wind it or wear it again to get the movement going before setting the time again. JORD recommends that you turn the crown between 15-20 times to get the movement going and then wear it to ensure it stays charged.

This really is a work of art, isn't it?

Big News!! Plus size, curvy gals in Chicago have another reason to celebrate! Torrid has moved in to a storefront right in the middle of State Street! Now those of us who live in the city and are addicted to shopping can get our fix during lunch breaks. I was able to join in the fun for the #TorridsInTheLoop event last week, and here's a few snaps from the opening.

Summer is nearly here, and if you don't have a floral dress in your wardrobe, get on it stat! Florals are a major trend this season -- coming in every shade and combination -- so pick the one that shows off your flair the best! When Kohl's asked me what my summer essentials were for the plus size market, I knew that floral dresses were number one on my list. Proper, minimalist or bohemian, short or maxi, floral dresses are abundant. This adorable black, white and gray sleeveless dress is Apt. 9 from Kohl's, and it has already become a go-to item in my closet!

I love the kind of abstract, but kind of photographic floral print. And the fabric is a fabulous stretch polyester knit which holds its shape and looks amazing though multiple wears.

I could have gone bold with my accessories, but was feeling more demure -- so I paired it with blush pink pearls and wedges. Very ladylike, right??

 And there's a cutout detail on the back! The scoop neck is modest and appropriate for work, and the cutout detail on the back adds flair, without being too revealing.

Color is the color of the season, and wow, this Coral Honeycomb Wrap Dress from Kiyonna is rocking it! I had 4 people stop me on the way to work to gush and ask where they could get it. It's no wonder that it's nearly sold out. If you're feelin' this look, and you're a plus size gal wearing a 2X, head over to Kiyonna right now and buy it. The color is amazing, the fabric lays perfectly, and the sheer honeycomb knit detail at the shoulders and sleeves give this dress even more edge. And did I mention that it's a wrap dress? So it lays perfectly over curves!

A strong color like this can carry another strong color, so I paired it with turquoise accessories for even more punch. I kept the shoes simple with nude pumps, and that was it.

Let's hear it for all of the amazing plus size #GirlBosses out there! How do you look fabulous at the office, and still look professional? Here's 3 easy steps that I follow when dressing for the office...

First, pick dresses or tops strong colors that flatter your skin tone and show your shape, but can still be considered modest. Next, find a great bag in an unexpected color that is large enough to fit an extra pair of shoes for your commute, all of your daily essentials and your electronics. The 3rd essential part of a #GirlBoss outfit is of course...shoes! Choose shoes that make a statement--such as a unique animal print--but opt out of the sky-high strappy heels. Try to find shoes that you won't be limping in by the end of the day. I'm the first to admit that I don't always follow my own advice to "wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in," but I'm trying!

This Tahari by ASL Dress is an absolute dream! I got it on sale at Macy's but sadly, it's no longer available. But I did spot a few left on 6pm.com, so check here to see if they have your size!

It's such an amazing rich cobalt blue color, in a shape that is ridiculously flattering. The hem is just above the knee for me (I'm 5'9), and the 3/4 length sleeves are perfect for an all-season dress like this. Gold details at the neckline and the cap of the tie belt add some extra pizzazz that is perfectly set off by gold accessories.

I go totally nuts for a great silhouette, and I'm always on the lookout for something different than an empire waist, a-line, or sheath dress. During Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale, I found this amazing Belted Cap Sleeve Teal Dress from Sejour. What a great color, right? A creamy blue teal is so dreamy and the shape...the shape! It's a cross between a cocoon dress and a butterfly dress, and it's all about the drapey folds and tie belt in the front, while the back falls in a straight line to the knee.

To really set off the dress, I knew I had to have a killer statement necklace. So my friends at Happiness Boutique (an online jewelry and clothing boutique out of Europe) were kind enough to send me this fabulous piece. It's a gold collar necklace with metal dangling bits and an old-world, vintage feel.
